21 Day Challenge – Week Four

Week Four

The truth of the matter is that there’s nothing you can’t accomplish if:

(1) You clearly decide what it is that you’re absolutely committed to achieving,

(2) You’re willing to take massive action,

(3) You notice what’s working or not, and

(4) You continue to change your approach until you achieve what you want, using whatever life gives you along the way.

Congratulations on completing the first 21 days! Wishing you the best of luck for your fourth week. I am so proud of you and the best part is how proud you are of each other. Continue to read each others entries, be inspired and know that you are not alone in this journey. I am inspired by all of you!

What True Beauty Is To Me

Body Conditioning by Dancers

My entire message is to live a healthy balanced lifestyle, eat right, exercise and do nice things for yourself. My focus is on health not vanity. As a result I have 50 beautiful women, who look incredibly healthy and vibrant, and I wanted to show them just how beautiful they are.

On Sunday December 5th I brought together the ladies of BCBD for an evening of socializing with their classmates.  No lululemons, only party dresses – because we had a BCBD Photoshoot with a professional photographer who was there to capture their beauty in a personal photoshoot, back drop, lighting and all!

While media and society in general continue to looking outward and complicating the definition of beauty, I empower you to continue realizing that simple things like exercising, and eating right makes us happy and healthy and offers the answer to what the definition of beauty truly is and that it simply lies within ourselves.

1) Nutrition – Hot Chocolaty Nutritious Treat

Its no secret that I’m a dessert -a-holic its always very challenging finding healthy options for tasty treats. As soon as it gets cold out my favorite treat is to warm myself up with a hot, chocolatey drink…
I have to admit I never would have though of this healthy alternative to regular sugar packed hot chocolate
I’m a huge fan of the Vega products, and they’ve got a perfect solution thats  as simple as combining these two healthy ingredients.

Hot Chocolaty Nutritious Treat


Ingredients: 2 scoops choc-a-late Vega Shake & Go Smoothie
11/2 cups unsweetened Rice or Almond milk

Directions: Mix up the Shake & Go powder and milk until powder is dissolved. Then warm the mixture in a pot on the stove for a few minutes.

Its a healthy alternative, to a delicious treat. You can even get creative and mix it with the Vanilla Almondilla and I like mine with a little cinnamon on top…Try it!

3) Wellness – Bio-K Formula

During my recent travel to Europe, apart from hours of walking a day, the only exercise I got was the action of lifting my fork to my mouth, and I have to be honest with you, that did a real number on my system.

When I returned, I knew I needed help to get back on track. So I used Bio-K Plus Formula.

Probiotics are (good bacteria) that help intestinal bacteria perform their tasks more efficiently. They take over when your intestinal bacteria have too much work or are weakened or even destroyed by — antibiotics, stress, poor nutrition or any other factors such as “travel to other countries”, and “overindulging” like in my case.

The Bio-K formula, which contains beneficial live bacteria that are found in great number in the intestine, promotes and maintains a healthy balanced digestive system.

You can find it in the refrigerator section of your local healthfood store. In the Original, Fruity, Strawberry, and dairy free flavours.

I’m not going to lie, its not taste, but thats not the point, its an effective way to get you back on track.

Not everybody loves the taste of water (especially me) however, we all need to drink it to ensure that our bodies continue functioning properly. If you want to drink more water, but aren’t crazy about the taste, here are some tips that can help:

Try Adding Fresh Fruit:

  • lemons
  • limes
  • oranges
  • crushed fresh raspberries
  • strawberry slices

Try Adding:

  • Cucumber
  • Fresh Mint

2) FITNESS

Exercise of the Month – Rolling V

*As seen on video

Start: Draw your knees toward your chest, lift your head, and grab your legs below the knees

(1). Rock up in to V and balance on your glutes

(2). Keeping your back long and chest lifted, straighten your legs and extend your arms side

(3). Hold for three seconds, then tuck and roll back to start. That’s one rep. Repeat 12-15x

3) WELLNESS

Stress comes from many areas of life, and stress relief comes in many forms. An important first step in dealing with stress is to have a plan with one or two quick stress relief strategies that can help you relax and de-stress your mind.

Studies show that certain types of aromatherapy can be effective for stress relief.

Rosemary aromatherapy can be a good choice for de-stressing during the day when there is still work to be done.

Lavender aromatherapy can be a great choice for anyone trying to relax for sleep or feel more calm and relaxed during the day.

Peppermint aromatherapy has been found to increase memory and alertness, which can provide a great pick-me-up for too-tired, too-busy people, stressed students, and the overworked.

Its that time of year when residents of Toronto begin to stay inside and hibernate. Avoiding the cold is a nasty habit that quickly deters people’s motivation to get out, socialize, and have fun.

Watch out ladies…things are about to heat up! On November 29th at 4:00pm, at Metro Movement (833 Broadview Avenue, 2nd floor) Toronto choreographer and women’s fitness expert Eva Redpath will be hosting Part 2 of her ladies only Girlicious Dance Workshop.

Miss Redpath is determined to get ladies off the couch, out of the house, and onto the dance floor. Eva is well-known for her group fitness classes, and as a choreographer for events like the Coors Light Maxim Tour. She combines her two greatest assets in a fierce dance workshop designed to bring out the strength and sass in women.

“I’ve been taking dance classes in Toronto for years and I have never experienced a class as unique as Eva’s Girlicious workshop.” Raved Kylie Wilson, an attendee of the previous class. “Eva began with a fun full-body workout and finished with a hot routine. I felt like I was ready to hit the stage with the Pussy Cat Dolls!”
